Don't underestimate Kim Tae Woo!

NOW FOR MY FIRST FEATURE...

To start off, let me share with you a vid that's been playing on my iPod for the past week or so. I just recently downloaded the lastest album of G.O.D.'s lead vocalist, Kim Tae Woo (G.O.D stands for Groove Over Dose --- they were a pretty popular idol group in Korea back in the late 90's and the early part of the last decade).

The guy is not your usual Korean pop idol. For one thing, he's already 29 --- which is ancient to most young Koreans. It's also a struggle for him because it's only been two years since he came back from mandatory military service in Korea - which is, on avereage, around 2 years. 2 years is a long time for a pop singer to be gone from the scene --- but apparently he hasn't lost his touch.

I've listened to the whole album, and he's got a solid RnB feel in his vocals (which is something I'm particularly fond of). I love of two of his tracks --- "Brothers and Me" (featuring Rain and Park Jin Young) and "Can You Believe This?" (featuring Suho). Both songs are characterized by smooth vocals and transitioning, and a rhythmic but laid back feel (good for driving, I say... hehehe!).

Here are the vids for you to sample the music. Please feel free to share your comments or questions.

Brothers and Me - Kim Tae Woo (feat. Rain and Park Jin Young)

Can You Believe This? - Kim Tae Woo (feat. Suho)
p.s. I tried looking for English subtitles, but apparently nobody's taken up to subbing all his songs yet :o(
