Miss A in English! Truly A-mazing!

I easily get excited when I get to hear news about idol groups that I've listened to who have impressed me in the past. Today, I was able to read about one of my favorite girl groups, Miss A, who just recently released a single titled "Love Alone" in collaboration with South Korea's Olympic ice-skating champion, Kim Yuna.

Kim Yuna and other world skating champions (such as Ekaterina Gordeeva and Ilia Kulik) will be staging an ice show in Korea on May 6th (if you want to read more about the event, click here). Miss A will be performing their new song "Love Alone" during the show.

I searched for the song in YouTube so I could listen to it, and to my amazement... THE ENTIRE TRACK WAS RECORDED IN ENGLISH! Yes... you read that right. The entire song is in English!

Essentially, the song's theme follow's a common theme in Korean pop --- unrequited love. Girl in love with a guy, but asking her man to admit his feelings to her. Although it's the execution of the song that got me hooked to the track. The song's straight-up club music; it's definitely made to be widely appreciated beyond the Kpop community. This, of course, makes a lot of sense since the writers and producers from the track aren't Korean at all. Here's a straight quote from the allkpop.com article...

"...This trendy pop song was produced by a famous American producer named Fuego, who previously composed Jasun DeRulo’s 2009 Billboard hit, “Watcha Say.” The song was written by Ursula Yancy of Rihanna’s “Skin“, and was recorded completely in English to maintain the original feel of the song...."

Considering the potential for global appeal, this raises signals for me that Miss A might attempt a go at the US and European markets, similar to what their label-mates, the Wonder Girls, did in 2010 (both teams are managed by JYP Entertainment).

This is amazing news, of course, for Miss A fans out there! At last, the girls are being given the chance to shine on an even larger stage. The release of this single will definitely pique everyone's interest in anticipation of their full album release later this month.
